Tevin Crosby: Entrepreneur always there with advice, a helping hand

Tevin Eugene Crosby, 25, was a marketing firm owner in Michigan. He was visiting Orlando when he was killed on June 12, 2016 in the Pulse nightclub shooting.

Tevin Eugene Crosby, 25, was a man with ambition.

Tevin was visiting Orlando from Michigan when he was killed on June 12, 2016 during the shooting at Pulse nightclub.

A sharp dresser and always quick with words of inspiration, Crosby's family members described him as a man of good character.

Crosby graduated from West Iredell High School in Statesville North Carolina and studied business administration at Strayer University South from 2011 to 2013, according to his Facebook page.

Crosby was a leader even at a young age, as president of the Future Business Leaders of America in high school, the Independent Tribune reported.

Tevin had recently moved to Saginaw, Michigan, from North Carolina to take over the marketing firm Total Entrepreneurs Concepts as director of operations.

Ryan Crosby said his cousin, Tevin Crosby would often help his family.

"He was the type of person you could go to for advice,” Ryan Crosby said.

A year after losing Tevin, Ryan Crosby said he remains speechless.

"Every time it is brought up, it is hard to believe it's true,” Ryan Crosby said.

Ryan Crosby remembers Tevin telling him to "Constantly push to better yourself."

Tevin Crosby's entrepreneurial spirit showed when he often posted to Facebook with words of inspiration.

His cover photo read, “Rise up, start fresh, see the bright opportunity in each new day.”

“The little things add up when you are on the road to success,” Crosby wrote in May 2016.

Crosby was buried in his hometown of Statesville, North Carolina.

Crosby is survived by his mother and father, Earl and Lisa, of Statesville, North Carolina; his brother, Chavis Crosby of Durham, North Carolina and his sister Shenetra (Walter) Harris of Statesville.
