1 dead in house fire near Amway Center in Orlando

No word on cause of blaze

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man was killed late Friday in an Orlando house fire, officials said.

The Orlando Fire Department said it was called to West Jackson Street and firefighters found the man inside the house. No other information has been provided about the man’s death and investigators are trying to identify him.

Several other people inside were able to escape the fire, including one man who was taken to a hospital in stable condition, Orlando police said.

In total, the fire displaced eight men, four women and a child, officials said. The Red Cross will assist them.

According to OFD, two firefighters were injured while battling the blaze.

The fire department’s arson unit is investigating the cause of the flames.
