Brevard County school district makes changes to mask policy

Students in grades 7-12 will be strongly encouraged to wear masks

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – Brevard County Public Schools updated the district’s mask policy on Tuesday night.

For students in grades PreK- 6, students will be required to wear a mask unless they have a parent opt-out form.

Students in grades 7-12 will be strongly encouraged to wear masks in class.

This new policy will expire on Nov. 29.

“It’s a starting point for us to have a discussion and decide where we want to go,” Brevard Public School Board Chair Misty Belford said.
