MARINELAND, Fla. – Crews had to pump water off State Road A1A in Marineland Thursday after Nicole caused the road to be flooded with ocean water.
The beachside road was flooded at the St. Johns/Flagler county line, and the road was closed for several hours, according to our News 6 partner WJXT.

Once pumping was done, crews reinforced the shoulders of the road with sand to try and stop that flooding from happening again during high tides.
It wasn’t the only part of Marineland that had to pumped out.
Flagler County’s engineering department pumped the Marineland Acres drainage system, including in the Sea Colony area. Dune breaches in the area also helped push that water in.
