Tavares woman, 29, found dead in home amid ‘several suspicious factors’

TAVARES, Fla. – A 29-year-old Tavares woman was found dead Wednesday after her roommate called emergency services, and police said there were “several suspicious factors” involved.

Tavares police said Lake County Emergency Services was called around 10:15 a.m. to the 1000 block of Maplewood Street for a medical emergency involving the caller’s roommate Danielle Decurtis.

Decurtis was pronounced dead minutes later, police said.

Tavares police officers said there were several suspicious factors surrounding the woman’s death, prompting an investigation.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigations unit is assisting in the investigation.

Anyone with information about the woman’s death is asked to call the Lake County Sheriff’s Office nonemergency line at 352-343-2101, then press 4.

No other details, including the manner of death, have been released.
