OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – With six days left till Christmas, The Salvation Army is still working around the clock to make sure families in Osceola County have the gifts they need.
Selena Cruz said this is the first time she applied for the Angel Tree program in an effort to get gifts for her 10-month-old daughter.
“I’m only with my partner and barely have family around, so I feel like this will help a lot for her,” Cruz said.
According to The Salvation Army, over 7,000 items were donated for the Angel Tree program in Osceola County which means 400 children will be able to have Christmas gifts this year.
Elizabeth Canet, a mother we met earlier this year through The Salvation Army’s Pathway to Housing program, said the donation is a huge help for her.
“Everyone is going through a lot, especially with what’s happening with the economy. Everything is so expensive, so this is a huge blessing for my boys and everybody else in the community,” Canet said.
Diana Moros told News 6′s Ezzy Castro in Spanish that the donations are more than just a blessing for her family.
“Que Dios los bendiga y gracias por todo. Una alegria para los ninos,” (God Bless and thank you for everything. This will bring happiness to my kids) Moros said.
