According to a Monday news release, the area was secured and there were no threats to the public. An incident report obtained Wednesday sheds more light on what officers encountered at the scene.

Officers responded to a residence lived in by four people, described as a grandfather, a mother, a stepfather and the mother’s daughter. At the time of the shooting, only the grandfather and daughter — identified as Faith Roberts, 22 — were home, police said.

The grandfather had called police, who arrived to find Roberts and a man — identified as Angelo Maldonado, 20 — both with gunshot wounds to the head, the report states. While Roberts was pronounced dead around 2:17 p.m., Maldonado was observed with a pulse and agonal breathing before he was airlifted and declared deceased around 3 p.m., according to the report. Police noted Maldonado appeared to have suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was located in a back bedroom while Roberts was found in the hallway near her bedroom.

The grandfather told police that he was asleep in his bedroom until around noon and did not know that anyone besides Roberts was in the home when the shooting occurred.

According to the report, the grandfather believes Roberts let Maldonado inside the home. The grandfather told police that he heard Roberts scream before hearing two gunshots and seeing Roberts fall out of her room into the hallway, the report states.
