Information is limited, but the suspect is described as approximately 6 feet tall, weighing between 180 and 200 pounds, wearing all black clothing, and speaking with a thick Haitian Creole accent.
On Monday, News 6 spoke with Michelle Walters, who lives near Barber Park.
That’s awful. I’ve never seen him before, and I’m here on a frequent basis," Walters said.
Lea Macaulay also lives near the park where the attack happened and said she saw the law enforcement presence on Saturday.
“It really made me think whether I’d come to the park and walk this morning. I thought really hard about it and I just thought, ‘I’m not going to let it stop me,” Macaulay said. ”It’s a shame. It’s a shame that something like that would happen.“
The sheriff’s office says there are no real updates to report, but there are additional patrols in the area, and detectives are out canvassing.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-8477 (TIPS).
