DeLAND, Fla. – A man and woman were found dead Saturday inside a home in DeLand, police said.
The DeLand Police Department on Tuesday said Scott Waldron, 49, and Padmini Waldron, 47, were found dead in a home on Cape Cod Road.
According to police, officers went to the home in reference to a report of a cardiac arrest and found the bodies.
The University of Central Florida has Dr. Padmini Coopamah Waldron listed on the Burnett Honors College website as the director of the Office of Honors Research. According to her bio, she held master’s and doctoral degrees in political science and French.
The college would not provide details at this time and some staff were taking names and contact information from callers with questions.
Neighbors said the couple had lived in the area for less than a year and that they had limited interaction with them. Several residents recalled seeing Dr. Waldron handing out Halloween candy in the neighborhood.
Police said an investigation is ongoing. Police have not released a cause of death or additional details as the inquiry continues.
