DELTONA, Fla. – An 11-year-old boy was arrested Monday on felony charges after he wrote a “kill list” at school, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.
The boy, whom News 6 is not naming due to his age, attends Highbanks Learning Center in Deltona.
Sheriff’s officials said the boy did not have access to any weapons, but he still faces a charge of making a written threat to kill.
“While school threats are down recently, Sheriff Chitwood is continuing to stress to students and parents that these types of threats will result in felony charges," the sheriff’s office posted on Facebook.
VSO shared video showing the handcuffed boy being led from a deputy’s cruiser into a jail cell.
No other details have been released.
