OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A man was arrested Sunday after an hourslong standoff with deputies at a Kissimmee mobile home, authorities said.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded at about 1:15 a.m. to a criminal mischief complaint near Biscayne Road and Seville Drive. While investigating, deputies heard a gunshot and went to 5026 Biscayne Road, where they saw a man trying to hide in nearby woods.

When deputies attempted to make contact, the man fled and crawled under a mobile home. Deputies said they found drugs and several firearms in the area. A perimeter was established around the residence, and the occupants of the mobile home were safely evacuated.
Deputies deployed gas and pepper balls in an effort to force the suspect out. The standoff lasted for nearly 14 hours before the man surrendered shortly before 3 p.m.
Dalton Sears, 33, was arrested and faces charges of possession of drugs, resisting with violence and battery on a law enforcement officer.
He was taken to the Osceola County jail.
No injuries were reported.
