Marion County firefighters tackle two-structure fire in Ocklawaha

OCKLAWAHA, Fla. – Several Marion County firefighters responded to a two-structure fire on Ocklawaha on Friday.

According to a social media post, Marion County Fire Rescue units were dispatched around 7:30 p.m. to the 18000 block of South East 105th Lane for a residential structure fire. Multiple 911 callers reported a house fully involved in flames, along with a shed also on fire.

The fire was declared under control at 8:31 p.m. No injuries were reported.

Eight Marion County Fire Rescue units responded to the fire, including South Forest Station #6, East Marion #4, Shady #16, Weirsdale #27, Belleview #18, Spruce Creek #30, Rolling Greens #28, and Battalion Chief #2.

The American Red Cross was called in to assist the affected family with immediate needs.

The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
