An operation in Osceola County to catch sex offenders and predators who hadn’t registered fully with the state led to 126 arrests, the sheriff’s office said Monday.
“Operation Silver Spur” was a joint crackdown involving the sheriff’s office, the U.S. Marshals Service and FDLE.

Sheriff Chris Blackmon led the news conference alongside members of the U.S. Marshals Service and Lt. Gov. Jay Collins.
Blackmon said many of the violations involved offenders failing to register vehicles, cell phones and social media accounts.
“Those are not minor paperwork violations,” Blackmon said. “Unreported phones or hidden online accounts can become tools to locate and exploit new victims. We will not tolerate in Osceola County."
The operation took place throughout the month of June.
People designated as sex offenders and predators are required to register with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and update their registration if anything changes.
All registrants are listed on the state’s website. The registry is searchable by city, county, and ZIP code. There is also a neighborhood search, where you can search for sex offenders in your area.
