PORT EVERGLADES, Fla. – On the Disney Destiny, guests can relive the magic of two cherished 90s Disney animated classics with immersive entertainment experiences inspired by “The Lion King” and “Hercules.”
The Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King is a first-of-its-kind family dining experience exclusive to Disney Destiny.
Guests enter a stylized African savanna setting inspired by the original film’s iconic artwork. The main dining room resembles a Boma, a communal gathering place, with walls adorned by animal and nature depictions enhanced by lighting and special effects.

“We’re so excited to bring The Lion King to the ships for the first time. We tell the story through two storytellers, Mwongozo and Shaha, and they tell it to our dancer, who doesn’t know the story of the cub who would be king,” said Kelly Benton, Managing Producer, Disney Live Entertainment.
As guests dine, a colorful ensemble of live musicians and storytellers perform songs from the award-winning Lion King soundtrack. The show retells Simba’s journey from cub to king, featuring authentic African instruments and theatrical props. Highlights include a mash-up of “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” and “Be Prepared,” and an interpretive dance to an instrumental “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.”
The menu blends African flavors with Disney Cruise Line favorites, incorporating regional spices and produce for a truly immersive feast.

“We had a lot of fun developing the menu and tried to stay authentic to some of the spices and seasonings,” said Chef Andy Bell, Culinary Development Manager for Disney Cruise Line.
On the theatrical side, the Disney Destiny debuts a Broadway-style stage adaptation of “Hercules,” staying true to the film’s story while offering a fresh retelling centered on its legendary soundtrack.
The show features iconic songs like “Go the Distance,” “Zero to Hero” and “I Won’t Say I’m in Love,” reimagined with gospel-inspired musical arrangements and pop concert energy.
“We’ve been wanting to do Hercules for a while, but when we found out that the theme of this ship was heroes and villains, I cannot think of a better story and musical and a true zero-to-hero story against one of our worst villains and funniest Hades,” said Michael Serna, Executive Creative Director, Disney Live Entertainment.
The production includes the theatrical debut of “Shooting Star,” a heartfelt ballad originally written for the movie by Alan Menken and David Zippel. The Muses return as lively storytellers with transcendent vocals and over-the-top personalities. Costume designs contrast the opulence of Mount Olympus’ gods with the humble attire of Earth’s mortals.
Award-winning puppet designer Michael Curry brings mythological creatures to life with jaw-dropping puppetry, including the multi-headed Hydra monster Hercules must defeat.
The Destiny’s inaugural sailing departs Nov. 20, showcasing a Disney heroes and villains theme on four- and five-night Bahamas and Western Caribbean cruises.
The Destiny is the third ship in Disney Cruise Line’s Triton class, alongside the Wish and Treasure, which sail from Port Canaveral.
