PORT EVERGLADES, Fla. – Superheroes need style … and sweet treats.
On the Disney Destiny, guests can indulge in both at Edna Á La Mode Sweets and the Concierge Destiny Tower Suite.
Edna Mode’s lab, famously known from Pixar’s “The Incredibles” as the creative space where the iconic fashion designer crafts outfits for the world’s most famous Supers, has been transformed into a one-of-a-kind confectionary aboard the Disney Destiny.
Inspired by the “Auntie Edna” short film, the lab’s modern sewing equipment has been cleverly repurposed into sweet-making machines that entertain even the most unpredictable super baby, Jack-Jack.
The design captures the signature futuristic look of the films, blending techy features with sweet surprises for super fans. Edna’s sketches and high-fashion artwork decorate the walls, while the front window displays costume models of Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl’s latest suits.
Families can strike their best heroic poses with a fun sculpture of Jack-Jack and Edna working on her cookie recipe. Keep an eye out for Rocky the raccoon, who might be sneaking a cookie or two from a nearby garbage can.
The menu is nothing short of incredible, featuring handmade gelato, ice cream, candies and specialty treats straight from Edna Mode’s lab. Highlights include cupcakes inspired by the Parr family heroes, decadent gourmet popsicles, homemade chocolate bark and an endless supply of fan-favorite Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums.
“It’s all about Edna and her lair,” said Chef Greg McClure, Disney Cruise Line Corporate Pastry Chef. “So with the design, you have to think of fashion, you have to think of color, textures, vogue, everything else.”
For those who want to live like a superhero, the Concierge Destiny Tower Suite offers the ultimate luxury experience. Perched high above the upper decks in the ship’s forward funnel, this two-story suite is inspired by Tony Stark’s sleek designs and honors the mighty legacy of The Avengers.
The Marvel-themed penthouse boasts its own private elevator and expansive two-story windows that provide breathtaking views of the open horizon. With nearly 2,000 square feet of living space, the suite comfortably sleeps up to eight guests.
Lisa Picket, Disney Cruise Line Hotel Director, spoke about some of the highlights.
“In the dining room, you’ll see a mask of Iron Man himself. and I think my favorite is upstairs in the children’s bedroom,” Picket said. “There’s Tony Stark himself. It’s the design of the stars on the ceilings, so when they go to sleep, they get to say good night to Iron Man.”
Sailing from Port Everglades, the Destiny’s inaugural sailing departs Nov. 20, showcasing a Disney heroes and villains theme on four- and five-night Bahamas and Western Caribbean cruises.
The Destiny is the third ship in Disney Cruise Line’s Triton class, alongside the Wish and Treasure, which sail from Port Canaveral.
