ORLANDO, Fla. โ Crews rescued a man and his dog from a fire at an Orlando outdoor furniture store, according to the fire department. It is believed a power line fell outside of the Sunbrite Outdoor Furniture store on Irene Street Wednesday night causing the exterior of the building to catch on fire, according to investigators. Fire crews said a man and his dog were inside the building at the time. The dog and the man were not injured in the incident.
Dog euthanized after owner tied animal up in park and shot it, Cocoa police say
COCOA, Fla. โ A dog had to be put down after its owner tied the animal to a tree and shot it with a shotgun at a public park on Sunday, according to the Cocoa Police Department. Police were called to Bracco Pond Park along Shearer Boulevard Sunday for reports of a man shooting a dog, then taking off in a red Hyundai SUV, according to a police report. According to police, the officer placed Beavers in handcuffs and then searched the SUV, finding a shotgun in the trunk along with ammunition. When questioned, Beavers admitted to shooting the dog after it had tried to bite him and his girlfriend, records show. Beavers said he took the dog from his home in Rockledge and drove it to the park with the intent to kill the animal, according to the report.

WILTON MANORS, Fla. โ A woman and her dog were mauled by an aggressive dog Sunday while walking in a Wilton Manors neighborhood. Now, Broward County Animal Control has removed that aggressive dog from the home, according to News 6 sister station WPLG in Miami. On Monday, Wilton Manors police and Broward County Animal Control arrived at the house and Animal Control could be seen taking the dog. Animal Control said the dog is now in quarantine after the dangerous and bloody attack. She told Maria and her injured dog to get into her car, but the aggressive dog tried to jump in, too, the woman said.

Florida man shot, hospitalized after dispute over unleashed dog, police say
GAINESVILLE, Fla. โ A dispute over an unleashed dog prompted two Florida men to pull out their weapons and exchanged gunfire. One man ended up hospitalized, and both were arrested on charges of gun possession by a convicted felon. Joseph Tyrone Scott, 39, and Dewayne Mavins, 35, were jailed on Wednesday, The Gainesville Sun reported. Frank Kinsey said the argument began over Mavins walking his large dog while unleashed. Scott was shot in the chest and lower leg and treated for non-life threatening wounds.

FLAGLER COUNTY โ A dog that went missing following a car crash on New Yearโs Eve was found Saturday at the crash site, according to the Flagler County Sheriffโs Office. Max, a Chihuahua who went missing following the crash, appeared and was reunited with his owner after deputies left food at the scene for the dog, deputies said. Since the crash, food has been left at the site in hopes of locating Max, deputies said.
