Here are the Central Florida road, bridge advisories due to Hurricane Ian

Closures occurring due to intense flooding

ORLANDO, Fla. – As Hurricane Ian moves up through Central Florida and continues to impact local counties, we will likely see more road and bridge closures.

Many cities and counties closed bridges and roadways as Hurricane Ian brought in heavy rains and strong gusts, causing flooding in many parts of the state.

Here are the latest road and bridge closures, advisories and flood impacts in Central Florida:

Brevard County

TITUSVILLE

FL511 reported Friday evening that all lanes were closed on A. Max Brewer Memorial Parkway at Indian River Avenue due to emergency road work.

Flagler County

FLAGLER BEACH

FL511 reported a lane closure on South Oceanshore Boulevard at South 15th Street due to emergency road work Friday evening.

County officials announced Thursday afternoon that the following areas have been hit by significant dune erosion.

  • State Road A1A at 21st Street South
  • State Road A1A at 26th Street South
  • State Road A1A from South 16th Street to South 10th Street
  • Beach access ramp at State Road 100 and State Road A1A

In a release, the county also announced that the State Road 100 bridge would be closed until further notice.

PALM COAST

Flagler County officials announced there was intermittent heavy flooding at Sea Trail near Sea Breeze Trail Thursday afternoon. In addition, significant dune erosion has impacted 16th Road near Old Salt Park, officials said.

BUNNELL

Flagler County officials announced there was intermittent heavy flooding along State Road 100 from the Flagler Government Center to the U.S. Post Office in Bunnell.

FL511 reported that all lanes were closed on South State Street near West Court Street Friday evening due to flooding.

Orange County

The Turnpike in Orange County reopened on Friday.

FL511 reported flooding in the following areas of Orange County as of Friday afternoon.

  • Interstate 4 Express Lanes West at Exit 84 to Ivanhoe Boulevard; ramp closed
  • U.S. Highway 441 near Lancaster Road; left lane blocked
  • State Road 482 at South Orange Avenue; right lane closed

ORLANDO

Airport officials announced that the following roads leading into Orlando International Airport were closed Thursday due to flooding.

  • Jeff Fuqua Boulevard
  • Heintzelman Boulevard
  • Bear Road
  • Cargo Road

FL511 reported Friday at 2:45 p.m. that the right lane of State Road 482 at South Orange Avenue had been closed due to flooding.

Florida Highway Patrol announced the following closures within Orlando due to flooding as of Friday night.

  • Lee Vista Boulevard near South Econlockhatchee Trail
  • Narcoossee Road near Lee Vista Boulevard
  • Orange Blossom Trail South near West Lancaster Road
  • Quadrangle Boulevard at University Boulevard
  • Kirby Smith Road near North Shore Golf Club Boulevard
  • East Lake Mary Jane Road at Gray Birch Circle

WINTER PARK

The two right lanes of Orlando Avenue southbound were closed down due to flooding along the roadway near Monroe Avenue, FL 511 reported Friday afternoon.

Osceola County

FL511 reported flooding in the following areas of Osceola County as of Friday night.

  • Florida Turnpike South near Exit 249 and Osceola Parkway; two right lanes blocked
  • State Road 535 at Polynesian Isle Boulevard; left lane closed

The Florida Highway Patrol announced the following closures as of Friday night.

  • Osceola Parkway entrance ramp to eastbound Interstate 4
  • Interstate 4 eastbound exit to State Road 536 near Epcot Center Boulevard

The U.S. 192 eastbound exit to Interstate 4 westbound and the Osceola Parkway entrance ramp to eastbound I-4 were reopened Friday night.

KISSIMMEE

Florida Highway Patrol reported Friday night that East Osceola Parkway at Plumwood Circle was closed due to flooding.

Polk County

FL511 reported flooding in the following areas in Polk County as of Friday night.

  • State Road 544 near U.S. Highway 27; all lanes closed
  • U.S. Highway 98 at U.S. Highway 17; all lanes closed
  • U.S. Highway 98 at Laurel Lane; lane closed
  • State Road 37 near State Road 674; northbound lanes closed

WINTER HAVEN

FL511 reported Friday afternoon that all lanes were closed as emergency vehicles responded to 6th Street at Mirror Terrace Northwest. In addition, a lane was closed along Lucerne Park Road at Lucerne Loop Road due to flooding, FL511 shows.

Seminole County

FL511 reported flooding in the following areas in Seminole County as of Friday night.

  • Interstate 4 East at Exit 104 near U.S. Highway 17-92; right lane blocked
  • State Road 426/Fairbanks Avenue/Aloma Avenue near Lake Jessup Avenue; all lanes closed

GENEVA

The Florida Highway Patrol announced as of Friday night that the following roads were closed due to flooding:

  • Snow Hill Road near Winding River Lane
  • Oviedo Road near Murphy Street

CASSELBERRY

According to FL511 Friday afternoon, U.S. Highway 17-92 at Piney Ridge Road was experiencing flooding. The two right lanes along the highway were blocked, FL511 reported.

SANFORD

Police said Thursday that flooding across the city caused obstructions along several roads, including the following areas.

  • Hartwell Avenue and 25th Street
  • Sanford Avenue North from 25th Street
  • Magnolia Park
  • 13th Street from Laurel Avenue to Sanford Avenue
  • 2600 block of Elm Avenue
  • 29th and Grove Drive
  • Mellonville Avenue and Randolph Street
  • South Marshall Avenue
  • Seminole Boulevard from 17-92 to Mellonville Avenue.

Police urged drivers to avoid the respective areas as crews handle the situations.

OVIEDO

Oviedo city leaders said Lockwood Boulevard in the area of Riverside Park was closed Thursday night as the city experienced heavy flooding. Riverside Park residents were urged to use southbound Lockwood Boulevard if they need to leave the area.

The right lane along Wrights Road was closed due to flooding on the roadway near State Road 426, according to FL511 Friday afternoon. FL511 also reported flooding along Oviedo Road at Walsh Street.

WINTER SPRINGS

At 7.4 feet, many secondary roads are flooded and may become impassable around Lake Monroe and in Enterprise, according to the city. Rising water begins to impact more areas of Stone Island and water approaches homes in River Oaks Estates.

Volusia County

DAYTONA BEACH

The Florida Highway Patrol reported Friday afternoon that Nova Road near State Road 600 would be closed due to standing water.

Volusia County officials announced the following bridges in Daytona Beach would be closed until further notice:

  • 192 International Speedway Bridge
  • Main Street Bridge
  • Orange Avenue Bridge

Seabreeze Bridge reopened on Friday.

ORANGE CITY

City officials said Friday S. Orange Avenue is closed near 354 S. Orange Ave. to southbound traffic. Residents south of that address are able to access Orange Ave. from Blue Springs Ave.

N. Industrial Drive is also closed near 1220 E. Industrial Drive to northbound traffic and E. Industrial Drive is closed to eastbound traffic.

PORT ORANGE

According to FDOT, the following bridge in Port Orange will be closed until further notice:

  • Dunlawton Bridge (at State Road 421 and State Road A1A)

NEW SMYRNA BEACH

Florida Highway Patrol reported Friday afternoon that Airport Road off State Road 44 was closed due to water all over the roadway.

In addition, County Road 415 near Pioneer Trail was also closed due to water Friday afternoon, FHP said.

County officials stated the following bridges in New Smyrna Beach will be closed until further notice:

  • North and South Causeways
  • Barracuda Bridge

ORMOND BEACH

According to FDOT, the following bridge in Ormond Beach will be closed until further notice:

  • Granada Bridge

FL511 also reported the right lane was closed along Ocean Shore Boulevard at Sunrise Avenue due to flooding.

The bridges were closed when winds reached a sustained speed of 40 mph.
