What The Honk: Where’s code enforcement when you need it?

Trooper Steve discerns the improper from the inconsiderate

ORLANDO, Fla. – I can honestly say, some of today’s honks are making a first appearance here on News 6.

It makes you wonder if they had sidewalks in those "Cars" movies, and if so, why? (Copyright 2023 by WKMG ClickOrlando - All rights reserved.)

Was always curious how they got away with this. Now a viewer has sent this into my inbox.

This is southbound John Young Parkway, and this business has turned the sidewalk into its overflow parking area. This kind of stuff really irritates me. Hey, code enforcement!

That invisible boat sure looks heavy don't it? (Copyright 2023 by WKMG ClickOrlando - All rights reserved.)

So what you’re saying is, it’s not a suspension issue?

They call this the Carolina squat and it’s just ridiculous. This has been banned on Volusia County beaches and for good reason. It completely changes how your vehicle operates and limits your field of view tremendously. I don’t get it.

Nothing to see here, right? (Copyright 2023 by WKMG ClickOrlando - All rights reserved.)

OK, this gets me excited because it’s not a honk, although it sure comes close.

What you’re seeing is a new model vehicle that the manufacturer is trying to keep low key. They have cutouts for lights and vision, making it legal.
