VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – New self-service car registration kiosks opened Wednesday at four Publix locations in Volusia County.

The kiosks will be available every day, “during extended store hours and without waiting in line.”

The new kiosks are located at:

  • Port Orange – 3821 S. Nova Road
  • Ormond Beach – 1258 Ocean Shore Blvd.
  • DeLand – 299 E. International Speedway Blvd.
  • Edgewater – 2970 S. Ridgewood Ave.

“These kiosks give our customers more flexibility and help reduce wait times in our branches,” tax collector Will Roberts said in a release. “If you’re already at the store, you can take care of a simple renewal on your own schedule and be on your way in minutes.”

If you’re renewing your vehicle registration, here’s what you need to bring:

  • The renewal notice with the PIN, or
  • The license plate number and the date of birth of the first registered owner
  • A credit card for payment (kiosks accept credit cards only; no cash or checks)

The new registration and decal should print instantly.

The kiosks cannot process renewals for:

  • Boats
  • Mobile homes
  • Government vehicles
  • IRP (International Registration Plan) vehicles
  • Personalized plates
  • Autonomous vehicles
  • National Guard plates
  • Parking permits or disability placards

For each renewal, there is a $4.50 service fee along with a 2.3% credit card fee.

“These fees are collected by the vendor that operates and maintains the kiosk system – not by the Tax Collector’s Office. They help cover the cost of providing this fast, self-service option in convenient retail locations,” a release states.
