ORLANDO, Fla. – Another week of rollercoaster weather is setting up as a potent cold front is forecast to sweep through the area by the middle part of the workweek.
EARLY WEEK:
It is going to be a much warmer start across the area on Monday and Tuesday as a large ridge of high pressure begins to weaken its grip ahead of an approaching cold front.
Expect some scattered clouds, while conditions remain mostly dry with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s both Monday and Tuesday afternoon.
WEDNESDAY:
Changes will kickstart on Wednesday as winds pick up our of the southwest between 15-20 mph. As the front moves overhead, rain chances are expected to increase to 50-60% chance with the chance of a few isolated thunderstorms.
These storms could bring gusty winds up to 50 mph and even some lightning. Even without storms, gusty showers are expected ahead of the front. By Wednesday afternoon and into the evening, conditions will dry out quickly as the front clears the area.
Colder air will rush in quickly behind the front by Wednesday night with the chill already being felt by Thursday morning. Expect lows to dip into the 40s across much of the area, with wind chill values dropping into the 30s for many.
A frosty morning will turn into a cold afternoon Thursday with highs ranging from the upper 50s to mid 60s.
LATE WEEK:
As we head into the weekend, high pressure will settle over the eastern U.S., bringing temperatures back to normal.
Friday’s breezy, onshore winds will help warm things up, with afternoon temperatures climbing through the 70s into early next week. There may be some isolated to scattered showers along the local waters this weekend, with a few moving inland, but otherwise, it should remain dry.
