Cold front coming! Here’s your Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday forecast in Central Florida

Central Florida to see temp drop with sweeping front

ORLANDO, Fla. – A weather roller coaster is on the way for the holiday bringing a sharp cooldown for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Wednesday

Wednesday brings the warmest part of the week as winds turn WSW ahead of an approaching cold front in the Florida Big Bend. After the morning fog lifts, highs will climb close to near record highs in the mid 80s.

Thanksgiving Day

Things change quickly Wednesday night into Thanksgiving Day. The front will push into northern areas around midnight and slide through east-central Florida during the day. Moisture is limited, so most spots will stay dry, especially north. The shift in winds and added cloud cover will keep temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s through the day.

Thanksgiving night

Thanksgiving night turns crisp. High pressure builds in behind the front, bringing in a surge of colder air.

Lows will drop into the lower 40s across northern counties, with 50s holding on farther south. Wind chills will dip even lower, ranging from the mid 30s in northern Lake to the lower 40s around Orlando.

Black Friday-Weekend

Friday and Saturday stay cool, breezy and dry as high pressure settles over the Deep South. Black Friday remains the coldest day of the week with highs staying in the mid to upper 60s, with slightly milder conditions through the weekend.

Next Week

Weather models split on how the next upper-level system develops. One scenario builds a stronger dig in the Jetstream, sending in a front early in the week. The other keeps things weaker but still allows a front to lift north as moisture increases. Either way, warming temperatures and at least some chance for rain return early next week.
