MOUNT DORA, Fla. – The annual Mount Dora Blueberry Festival is rolling into town this weekend, bringing crafters, live music and other activities.
The two-day event at Donnelly Park celebrates the peak of blueberry season, according to event organizers, which will feature berries from local farms, like Amber Brooke and Far Reach.

“We highlight local farms, so the weather is crucial to the timing of the event. If conditions aren’t right, the local berries might not be ready in time for our annual festival,” event coordinator Janet Gamache said in a release.
The main events include the pancake breakfast, which is sold out, and a blueberry pie eating contest. The contest will be at 2 p.m. on the main stage at the festival.
There will also be fresh baked blueberry pie for purchase, with proceeds going toward the culinary program at Umatilla High School.
And don’t miss out on other blueberry treats! The event will serve up foods like blueberry BBQ with blueberry salsa, blueberry mochi and even blueberry beer, according to event organizers.
A free shuttle will run on both days from 900 Lincoln Avenue to the park.
