ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Playa Pizza announced Thursday that it will be closing its doors permanently at the end of the year.
The shutdown will be effective at closing time following a full day of business on Tuesday, i.e. at 2 a.m. Wednesday.

The decision follows an extended legal battle that has significantly impacted the restaurant’s operations, according to a statement posted to the business’ social media.
The restaurant opened in July 2022 after facing significant construction delays, the statement reads. Playa Pizza expressed gratitude to its customers, staff, and vendors for their support throughout its two-and-a-half years of operation.

The restaurant is known for its rooftop deck offering views of Disney fireworks and its “Pizza and Politics” podcast featuring local politicians.
According to the statement, Playa Pizza is currently exploring potential future locations and is selling all of its equipment and furnishings.
