Walmart is now apologizing for selling “Celebration Edition: Juneteenth Ice Cream.”

It was the store’s attempt to commemorate Juneteenth, the oldest U.S. celebration of the end of slavery, but it didn’t go over so well.

The packaging was decorated in pan-African colors, which are not associated with the day.

And there was a message on the side that read: “Share and celebrate African American culture, emancipation, and enduring hope.”

Many saw it as a form of corporate cultural appropriation of the Black community.

Walmart has removed the ice cream from its stores.
