When officers arrived, they found a 21-year-old man injured from the shooting. He was airlifted to a hospital where he later died, according to the department.

Annie Span claimed to be the grandmother of the victim, Ricky Lee Albury III, the same man who was found wounded from the shooting.

“She was like, ‘he’s dead, somebody shot him,’ and you know how grandmothers are I sort of panicked and started screaming and crying and you know this we’re at now,” Span said.

Officers confirmed Albury was injured when they arrived on-scene.

Later Saturday afternoon, a heavy police presence did return to the area and blocked of a separate scene where neighbors say it was a stark reminder of the earlier homicide investigation.

“Yeah me and my daughter we’re up watching a late show, and then we heard the gunshots,” said Jackie Lewis. “So, we got down because we were like what in the world. We wasn’t expecting that at all.”
