WATCH AGAIN: ULA launches Atlas V rocket following initial launch cancelation

Launch was rescheduled for Friday at 7:15 p.m.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. – United Launch Alliance launched its Atlas V rocket Friday evening after canceling a Thursday launch due to poor weather conditions.

ULA originally prepared for the launch of an Atlas V rocket Thursday evening, though teams decided against the launch following overcast weather.

The rocket was initially slated to launch from Space Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 6 p.m., but lifted off at 7:15 p.m. Friday instead.

According to the company, the rocket is expected to carry an experimental missile warning satellite for the U.S. Space Force, along with some additional rideshare payloads.

ULA said Friday the weather forecast had improved, with a 50% chance of acceptable weather at the start of the launch window.

This is the second launch planned for this week. SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Wednesday.
