Cristian Burgos faces 6 charges of attempted 1st-degree murder in October shooting

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Orange County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of the person they said is responsible for an early morning shooting that injured six people at a nightclub in October.

Deputies responded around 2 a.m. to Toxic Lounge at Avenue Shoppes, located off the northwest side of Florida Mall’s parking lot near JCPenney.

Sheriff John Mina said Cristian Burgos, 25, faces six charges of attempted first degree murder in the drive-by shooting at the lounge.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Burgos also faces charges of shooting into an occupied dwelling for a shooting minutes later at Euphoria Hookah Lounge, although nobody was injured.

Deputies said Burgos also faces murder charges in a separate case in Kissimmee.

“We know that this type of violence has people concerned in our community, and frankly, it concerns me as well,” Mina said during a news conference on Tuesday.

Deputies said Burgos was arrested in January by Orlando police for possession of firearm by a convicted felon and one of the guns seized – an AR-15 style rifle – was also used in the nightclub shooting.

According to deputies, Burgos was connected to a rival nightclub, and a rapper named yovngchimi was set to perform at the Toxic Lounge on then night of the shooting.

Burgos is currently in custody in the Seminole County jail on federal gun charges, according to a news release.
