ORLANDO, Fla. – Today was a special day for us here at News 6 as we join forces with the Salvation Army to kick off the annual Angel Tree program.

This incredible initiative has become a cherished tradition in Central Florida, helping ensure thousands of children and seniors in need experience the joy of the holiday season.

I’m thrilled to share that I was joined by none other than the legendary Maj. Ken Chapman, the Salvation Army’s area commander, who has been an unwavering advocate for this program. Together, we’ll discuss the heart and soul of the Angel Tree program, how it works, and why it’s so crucial for families in our community.

For those unfamiliar, the Angel Tree program connects generous donors with children and seniors who could use some extra holiday cheer.

It’s simple, but powerful. You “adopt” an angel by choosing one from the tree, then shop for items on their wish list. The Salvation Army ensures those gifts reach their recipients in time for the holidays.

Over the years, this program has transformed lives. It’s not just about presents—it’s about hope, love, and letting families know they are not forgotten during what can be a challenging time.

We’re inviting everyone to be part of this mission. If you’re ready to make a difference, click here to find out where you can get your angel.
