Winter Park couple takes another ride with Bezos’ Blue Origin to edge of space

VAN HORN, Tx. – Marc and Sharon Hagle, who recently became the first married couple to launch on a commercial space vehicle, went and did it again on Friday.

The philanthropists previously rode Blue Origin’s New Shephard rocket to the Kármán line in March 2022 during what was the launch vehicle’s fourth human flight.

Friday, they launched once more from Blue Origin’s Launch Site One in Van Horn, Texas, on NS-28, the ninth human flight for the New Shepard program and the 28th in its history, according to a news release.

The Hagles were joined for the flight by Emmy-nominated TV host Emily Calandrelli, financial services professional Austin Litteral, entrepreneur James “J.D.” Russell and Bayshore Capital Chairman and CEO Henry “Hank” Wolfond.

The couple has also shared headlines with OceanGate, having filed then dropped a lawsuit against the beleaguered deep sea exploration company over claims of fraud.
