LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – It’s been five years since the NBA Experience closed at Disney Springs, and on Wednesday its replacement was announced.
LEVEL 99, a New England-based entertainment venue, will take over the space, a spokesperson for the company told News 6.
Its website states that it is designed for adults and features over 50 “physical and mental challenges set in artistic environments.” People are sent into different rooms and play games as a team or between other players via duels.
“We are defining the category and setting the standard for out-of-home, interactive entertainment,” LEVEL99 CEO and Founder Matthew DuPlessie said in a prepared statement. “After spending two decades in the location-based entertainment industry, it became clear there was consumer demand for a concept like this – a real unmet need.”

The Disney Springs location will also feature a two-story bar and restaurant serving items such as Detroit-style pizzas and local beers, according to the news release. The venue itself will be over 45,000 square feet and can host up to 1,000 people at a time, the release states.
LEVEL 99 sells tickets at hourly rates, offering two, four or an all–day option. According to its website, players get access to all rooms.
This will be the fifth location for the company, as it has others in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and is set to open in Connecticut and Virginia later this year, according to a news release.
Meanwhile, an opening timeline for the Florida outpost has not been revealed yet — but the brand said this one will be the largest it has ever built.
“Our vision is to make ‘challenge rooms’ a mainstream concept, and the opportunity to open at a marquee location like Disney Springs is the next step in our plans to expand the LEVEL99 brand nationally.” DuPlessie said in a prepared statement.
