POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Lakeland man was arrested this month after he was seen walking along the roadside at night while “fully nude,” according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
In an affidavit, deputies said the incident was reported along Broken Arrow Trail just before 6 a.m. on Nov. 11.
“It’s 36 degrees, and this dude is walking down the road buck naked,” Sheriff Grady Judd explained. “You know what buck naked means? He’s not even wearing his socks.”
An investigator said he made contact with the man — identified as Anthony Day, 41 — though he initially refused to identify himself, maintaining that he was “protecting his privacy.”
Then, Day gave the deputy a false name and address, investigators noted.
“The suspect also made the excited utterance the incident was a TikTok prank gone wrong,” the affidavit reads.
However, Judd contended that Day didn’t have anything on his person with which to record a TikTok video.
“Well, you don’t even have your cell phone,” Judd said. “You’re really naked when you don’t have your cell phone.”
Eventually, deputies were able to confirm Day’s true identity, and he was taken into custody on charges of resisting an officer without violence, disorderly conduct, and exposure of sexual organs. He was released on bond of $2,250.
