ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Employees of an Orlando-area Lockheed Martin facility are safe following an evacuation on Wednesday, according to a spokesperson for the defense contractor.

Lockheed Martin said it had reports of smoke in one building at the Sand Lake Road facility, adding the corporation was working closely with local officials. Only two people were in the building and both are safe.

The entire site was not evacuated, despite early reports.

“Local emergency officials responded and have cleared the building. There is no environmental or safety risk,” a spokesperson with Lockheed Martin said in a statement to News 6.
