During a media event Friday afternoon, officials shocked the crowd by making the big announcement during a presentation. The terrifying Halloween event will feature a number of heart-pounding haunted houses, scare zones and roaming haunts, incredible food and drink offerings and high-energy stage shows.

“We’re not shying away from the scares! It’s going to be in your face and it’s going to be epic,” Cindi Miller, Vice President, Entertainment at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment said during the event.

The theme of this year’s event revolves around the Bayside Lake siren who has risen to take her revenge out on the guests who have entered.

“Our goal, there is no place to hide. If you come into this event there are scares around every corner,” Matt Ashman, SeaWorld production manager of entertainment said.

In addition to the scares, guests will also get the chance to scream on SeaWorld Orlando’s popular roller coasters and try some signature drinks, including the Siren’s Kiss. The cocktail includes vodka, grenadine, lemon juice and flavors of pear and blackberry sour.

Festivities will begin at 7 p.m. each event night and run as late as 2 a.m.

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment other Florida park, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, has been scaring up fun with its own Howl-O-Scream event for several years now. Busch Gardens announced details about its Howl-O-Scream event earlier this week.

The separately ticketed Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld Orlando will take place on 27 nights beginning Sept. 10 and running through Halloween night. In addition to Howl-O-Scream, SeaWorld Orlando will once again offer its popular Halloween Spooktacular during the day, which has trick-or-treating for kids of all ages.

“We have an amazing creative team that is going to allow our families to enjoy Spooktacular during the day, and then we’re going to flip it, and make it scary,” Miller described.

The new addition at SeaWorld Orlando ramps up the Halloween festivities across Central Florida’s theme parks. This week, Walt Disney World announced more information about its all-new “Disney After Hours BOO BASH” event, while Universal Orlando has released only a few details about its Halloween Horror Nights event.

Tickets for Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld Orlando are now on sale with exclusive discounts for annual pass members. Single-night tickets range from $29.99 to $50.99, depending on the date of a guest’s visit. SeaWorld Orlando is also offering a two-park ticket for $79.99, which gives guests access to both Howl-O-Scream events at SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

“We are very excited to announce Howl-O-Scream today and look forward to sharing all of the amazing details of the event over the next few months,” said SeaWorld Orlando Park President Kyle Miller.
