Guests will venture deep into the catacombs of Frankenstein Manor, where Dr. Victoria Frankenstein — the great-great-granddaughter of the infamous Henry Frankenstein — conducts her twisted and misguided experiments.
Dr. Frankenstein then demonstrates her ability to control monsters — but her plans go awry when a horde of enraged monsters is unleashed. Guests then embark on a terrifying ride through the darkness as they try to evade Dracula, The Wolf Man, and The Creature from the Black Lagoon.
Other monsters guests can expect to encounter throughout the attraction include The Mummy, The Brides of Dracula, and The Phantom of the Opera.
Frankenstein’s Monster
Frankenstein’s Monster will make his star presence known as he walks tall at 9 feet, weighing over 800 pounds.
According to a news release, guests will first encounter this figure within the queue of the attraction — where he will actually walk into Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s lab during the preshow.
Dracula
Iconic Dracula is the most dangerous of the monsters Dr. Frankenstein will try to control.
Guests will encounter Dracula at various moments throughout the attraction, as he’s behind the horde of enraged monsters terrorizing the manor.
The Wolf Man
Among the monsters unleashed within the attraction is the Wolf Man. As guests try to escape the catacombs of Frankenstein Manor, they’ll come within inches of his razor-sharp teeth and jagged claws.
Dark Universe will also be home to Curse of the Werewolf, a spinning family roller coaster inspired by “The Wolf Man.”
The Creature from the Black Lagoon
Epic Universe guests will also witness the amphibious “Gill-man” emerge from the inky depths of the Black Lagoon, ready to terrorize guests alongside his fellow monsters.
Guests will also have the chance to meet and greet monsters like Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s Monster and the alluring Bride of Frankenstein.
Other inhabitants roaming the eerie village include Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s assistant, Ygor, The Invisible Man, an eccentric monster hunter, and a talented musician who regales guests with songs and tales.
Opening on May 22, 2025, Universal’s fourth theme park sits on 750 acres of land not far from the Orange County Convention Center.
Epic Universe features five vivid worlds:
- The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic: Transporting visitors to a different era of the wizarding world, blending 1920s wizarding Paris from the “Fantastic Beasts” films with the iconic British Ministry of Magic.
- Super Nintendo World: Featuring beloved characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Donkey Kong in an interactive gaming experience.
