Not only does Epic Universe offer an entirely new level of experience, but Universal is once again showing accommodations for body-conscious guests.

Test seats are in secluded areas at the entrance of the attraction queues to allow for more privacy, and are equipped with a green/red light system to indicate whether you meet safety requirements in the seat.

Overall, Epic Universe attractions offer a decent amount of leg and shoulder room beneath the safety restraints. It’s very clear these attractions are wheelchair accessible, too.

Below is a rundown on what guests can expect at some of the most-talked about rides.

“The doctor will see now!”

The KUKA coaster had made a comeback in Universal’s most chilling thrill ride yet, Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment.

The robotic arm ride system is the mode of transportation through the catacombs of Frankenstein Manor, where host Dr. Victoria Frankenstein feels it is her responsibility to continue her family’s legacy in controlling monsters.

With 14 animated figures in all, some of the Universal Monsters, like Frankenstein and Dracula, will appear more than once. Universal also stays true to its roots by placing monsters throughout the ride in chronological order according to when their classic film was released.

Stardust Racers

Stardust Racers is a must-do for any thrill enthusiast. The dual-launch coaster is stacked with hills, heights up to 133 feet on a 4,800-foot track, where trains will reach speeds up to 62 mph.

Universal also came up with the idea to pay homage to the Back to the Future franchise by placing a flux capacitor on the back of the trains as the power source.

So are the tracks different?

Yes. The yellow track offers a slightly more intense experience.

Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry

There are attraction queues, and then there are the heavily-involved Harry Potter attraction queues.

A Métro-Floo transport, a stunning grand atrium, a Hall of Ministers, and an office that’s more like a villain’s lair, guests will have plenty to look at while in line at Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry in an attraction queue that is six hours’ worth of distance.

Guests will eventually board an omnidirectional lift, which simulates a chase to catch Dolores Umbridge, who has made it her mission to turn back time to the age of Lord Voldermort’s reign.

A game of Mine-Cart in Donkey Kong is always unpredictable and the same can be said for a family roller coaster at Donkey Kong Country.

The thrilling family coaster takes riders through the Golden Temple on a mission to protect the Golden Banana.

The key feature of the coaster is undoubtedly the track as the robotic arm attached to the vehicle creates the illusion that the minecart is actually jumping the track.

Dragon Racer’s Rally

Stardust Racers has the celestial spin, Dragon Racer’s Rally has the barrel rolls, but that’s under the control of the rider.

This pendulum-style sky coaster celebrates the pastime of dragon racing on the Isle of Berk. New Vikings will swoop, soar and with enough momentum, can swing their seat to perform that high-speed barrel roll.
