UPDATE: Marion County deputies ID boy found riding bike on I-75
MARION COUNTY, Fla. โ Authorities in Marion County quickly identified a young boy who was found riding his bicycle on the side of Interstate 75. According to the Marion County Sheriffโs Office, the boy was along the side of I-75 southbound from Highway 484 when he was found. He told deputies his name is John but was unable to provide any more information about his identity. โPlease help us find his family,โ the sheriffโs office wrote on Facebook. Less than an hour after the post went up, the sheriffโs office said the boy had been identified.

Missing 77-year-old Marion County man found safe
UPDATE: A missing 77-year-old Marion County man has been found safe in Sarasota County, officials said Monday. Details about the recovery of David Edeard Voldal have not been released. ORIGINAL STORY: The Marion County Sheriffโs Office is seeking a man who went missing from his Ocala home on Saturday. Deputies are looking for 77-year-old David Edward Voldal, who was last seen leaving his home at 6601 Southwest 112th Street and traveling to Freedom Library at around 3:20 p.m. He was last seen driving a red 2010 Toyota Corolla with a Florida license plate number of EVCM58, deputies said.

The Marion County Sheriffโs Office reported Sunday that Jadaleigh was found and is safe. ***Original***The Flagler County Sheriffโs Office is seeking a teen girl who went missing on Saturday. Deputies are searching for 15-year-old Jadaleigh Cothran, who was last seen at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at 3502 Northeast 59th Terrace, according to deputies. Cothran left on foot, was wearing a black shirt and torn blue jeans with signatures from classmates all over it, and was carrying a black and orange backpack, according to deputies. 1 hospitalized after shooting in Marion County, deputies say
One person was hospitalized following a shooting in Marion County on Saturday, according to the Marion County Sheriffโs Office. The shooting occurred in the 4700 block of SW 166th Court near Dunellon, deputies said. The investigation is ongoing.
Visitors to Marion County Sheriffโs Office now allowed to wear masks, ban remains for deputies
A sign telling visitors of the Marion County Sheriff's Office to remove their mask is gone. While visitors are now able to wear their mask, the internal policy for Sheriffโs Office employees still holds. In a statement the Marion County Sheriff's Office said:"So the issue at our district offices was always security. The sheriffโs Office is located in Ocala - where a mask mandate is in place for all indoor businesses. Even with the mask order, the Marion County Sheriffโs Office said more than half of itโs employees are in the exception category, wearing masks based on their assignments or circumstances.
VIDEO: Man tasered after fleeing from deputies in Marion County
MARION COUNTY โ A man was arrested on Wednesday after driving without a license plate, running a red light and fleeing deputies, according to the Marion County Sheriffโs Office. Deputies took into custody 32-year-old Jeremiah Jacob Wilson after running a red light, driving 65 to 70 mph in a 45 mph zone and fleeing police on foot. His vehicle didnโt have a license plate on it. Following a chase, deputies caught up with Wilson, deployed a taser on him and took him into custody, deputies said. Teen accused of threatening shooting at Marion County high school
A 15-year-old student was arrested on allegations of threatening a shooting at a Marion County school, according to sheriffโs officials. The teen was arrested on felony charges after making the threat against North Marion High School, deputies said. No other details have been released. The school opened as normal Monday.
Missing 29-year-old man sought by Marion County deputies
MARION COUNTY โ The Marion County Sheriffโs Office is seeking a 29-year-old man who went missing Sunday afternoon. Deputies are looking for Erik Michael Scanlon, who was last seen at 4 p.m. Sunday. He was last heard from via text messages around 6 p.m., and those messages caused concern for his safety, deputies said. Scanlon is possibly driving a 2004 blue Mitsubishi Moniteau with license plate number Y42-WCU, deputies said. Anyone who knows of Scanlonโs whereabouts is asked to call 911.
Man arrested after being found in woods by police dog, deputies say
MARION COUNTY โ A man was taken into custody after a police dog found him hiding in the woods following a home invasion, according to the Marion County Sheriffโs Office. On Dec. 27, deputies said Christopher Watson broke into a home and was spotted going through clothes in the homeownerโs laundry room. After being confronted by the home owner, Watson fled the area on foot, deputies said. Watson was eventually found hiding in a large tree by K-9 Zeus and arrested, deputies said.

MARION COUNTY โ The Marion County Sheriffโs Office is seeking help to find a 60-year-old man who went missing Sunday morning. Deputies are looking for Robert Weldon, who as last seen at 7:30 a.m. at 9789 Southeast 175th Place in the Spruce Creek neighborhood. Weldon has gray hair, blue eyes and was last seen wearing a black jacket and gray jeans.
Missing 84-year-old man found, deputies say
MARION COUNTY โ The Marion County Sheriffโs Office said an 84-year-old man that went missing Saturday afternoon has been found. Deputies were searching for David Walsh, who was last seen on surveillance video at a Publix in Lake Placid on Saturday before being located Sunday. Walsh, who was wearing a blue polo shirt, blue-green dress pants and white tennis shoes, suffers from dementia.
