ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A driver was critically injured Friday morning when he rad a red light on U.S. 441 near Apopka and crashed into Bud Light semitrailer, causing beer cans to scatter across the roadway and prompting the closure of all lanes, according to officials.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched to the crash around around 6:30 a.m. at U.S. 441 and Boy Scout Boulevard in Orange County. Apopka police were also seen via video from Sky 6 as the Orlando Health Air Care Team stood by.
Troopers said a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling south on U.S. 441 and ran a red light, striking the side of the semi that was making a left turn on a green light.
The man driving the Malibu was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition, the FHP said.

The semi’s driver, a 36-year-old Deltona man, was not injured, according to troopers.
Beer cans littered the highway after the crash, FHP said.
U.S. 441 was closed in both directions from State Road 451 to Plymouth Sorrento Road. The roadway reopened several hours later.
Orange County Fire Rescue reported that two people were injured in the crash, but FHP has since clarified that only one person was hurt.
