Troopers seek driver of vehicle that struck a man who jumped from Osceola County bridge

Crash occurred on Florida Turnpike at Osceola Parkway overpass

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A 53-year-old Kissimmee man was pronounced dead after jumping off of a bridge and being struck by a vehicle in an Osceola County roadway Friday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office notified troopers around 11:29 p.m. of the man sitting on the overpass bridge of Osceola Parkway above the Florida Turnpike, according to an FHP crash report. Deputies then told troopers the man jumped from the bridge, landing in the Turnpike’s outside southbound lane, the report states.

An unknown vehicle in the outside southbound lane then struck the man and continued south without stopping, troopers said. No further information about the vehicle or its driver was available at the time of this report.
