ORLANDO, Fla. – News 6 traffic safety expert Trooper Steve answers viewer questions about the rules of the road, helping Florida residents become better drivers by being better educated.
Trooper Steve on Thursday was asked, “Am I required to wear a seat belt inside a limousine?”

Trooper Steve said this is something limo riders often don’t even think about.
“Being in a limousine -- most of the time -- means you are celebrating something special. But even when you’re celebrating, you need to be concerned about your safety,” he said.
Florida law does not require rear passengers in a limousine to wear a seat belt or have any type of vehicle restraints.
“The safety would have to be a proactive mindset of the passengers if they wanted to be restrained,” Trooper Steve said. “This goes under the category of ‘just because it’s not a law doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be.’”
