1 dead after crash at Ocala intersection, police say

SE 19th Avenue reopened after closure

OCALA, Fla. – A person who was hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash on Friday in Ocala has since died, according to police.

The crash occurred at the intersection of SE 31st Street and SE 19th Avenue, prompting the closure of SE 19th Avenue in both directions, the Ocala Police Department said at 6:33 p.m. on social media.

The post was updated at 9:25 p.m. to state that the person who was hospitalized had succumbed to their injuries, adding the police department’s hearts go out to the individual’s family and friends, as well as that all roadways had been reopened.

No other details of the crash had been shared at the time of this report.
