Van driver uninjured in wreck

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 19-year-old Orlando woman was killed late Monday in a two-vehicle crash in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal wreck happened on Goldenrod Road near Silver Pointe Boulevard, just south of State Road 408.

The FHP said the woman was driving a 2006 Honda Civic south on Goldenrod when she lost control of the vehicle, struck a curb and entered the northbound lanes, where an oncoming van struck the left side of the car.

The woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to AdventHealth East Orlando, where she was pronounced dead, according to troopers.

The van driver, a 47-year-old Orlando man, was not hurt.
