ORLANDO, Fla.Ezzy Castro joined me this morning to talk about Light Orlando and its effort to pack 1,000,000 meals this weekend for the Central Florida community. Light Orlando is also looking for motivated volunteers.

Last year, I had the opportunity to be there, and talk about an amazing time. Great vibes, awesome DJ and all for a great cause.

The event runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24. There are two shifts available for meal packing — 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. — so, consider signing up for both shifts for double the blessings.

Volunteers will assist with the following:

  • Site setup (160 tables, 80 assemble lines)
  • Working in teams to assemble meals (1,000,000)
  • Boxing meals (3,600+ cases)
  • Help with loading charities with the assembled meals (75+ organizations)
  • Cleanup

Share your “light” and have fun!
