Sumter County man killed in crash with tree Crash happened along US-301 in Hernando County

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A 23-year-old Sumter County man was killed early Saturday when his pickup truck went off the roadway and crashed into a tree, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 5:10 a.m. along US-301 in Hernando County.
According to troopers, the Webster man was speeding north on US-301 when he lost control and crashed into a tree on the west shoulder of the highway.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other information was provided.
