Man struck, killed by Brightline train in Cocoa was seen walking on tracks, police say

Crash occurred in area of Plaza Parkway, Mediterranean Lane

COCOA, Fla. – A man was struck and killed by a Brightline train Saturday night in Cocoa, according to police.

The crash occurred around 10 p.m. in the area of Plaza Parkway and Mediterranean Lane, the Cocoa Police Department confirmed.

Witnesses said the man — whom investigators described as 40 years old — was walking along the tracks when he was hit, a Cocoa police spokesperson told News 6.

An investigation is ongoing, the spokesperson said.
