KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A 42-year-old Kissimmee man was killed early Friday in a hit-and-run crash in Osceola County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

The fatal wreck happened around 1:20 a.m. on Buenaventura Boulevard at Osceola Parkway near Kissimmee.

The FHP initially said a vehicle, possibly a white Acura MDX with front-end damage, was northbound on Buenaventura Boulevard when the Kissimmee man attempted to cross the street and entered the path of the vehicle.

The pedestrian was struck by the front of the vehicle, which “fled the scene northbound,” according to an FHP crash report.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

In an update Saturday morning, the FHP said it acted on a tip about the hit-and-run vehicle’s location and had found it, confirming it was a 2007 Acura MDX. Investigators have since taken possession of the vehicle, according to the update.

Anyone with information about the crash or the suspect vehicle’s driver is asked to call the FHP at 407-737-2213 or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
