OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – Today’s stream brings me right back home to Osceola County. With it being National School Bus Safety Week, there’s no better time to talk about one of the most important responsibilities we all share: keeping our kids safe on the way to and from school.
I had the chance to catch up with an old friend, Deputy Medina, who’s part of the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office motorcycle unit. He and I go way back to the days when we used to ride together, and it’s always good to reconnect with those who continue serving our community in such a big way.
During today’s live stream, we’ll talk about what it really takes to keep school zones and bus stops safe, from the perspective of those on the front lines enforcing traffic laws every single day. Medina will also give us a close-up look at some of the equipment the motor unit uses to help keep drivers accountable and our roads safer.
So, join us for a ride through Osceola County as we shine a spotlight on school safety, talk about the dos and don’ts around school buses, and remind everyone that every stop sign on a school bus means a child’s life could be at risk if you ignore it.
Because at the end of the day, safety isn’t just a rule, it’s a responsibility we all share.
