ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida, we’re hitting the road today in Results-1 for a little traffic refresher that many drivers might not even realize they need.

A viewer named Tammy reached out with a great question: If a driver is turning left at a green light and the driver coming from the opposite direction has a green light to make a right turn, who has the right of way?

It’s a situation that plays out constantly at intersections across Central Florida and it can quickly turn dangerous when assumptions replace the rules of the road.

While both drivers technically have a green light, that doesn’t automatically mean both can go at the same time. The key word in this scenario is yield. Yielding the right of way means allowing the other driver to proceed first when there’s a conflict in movement. But many drivers get impatient or misunderstand the law, and that’s where trouble begins.

So today, we’re taking the stream back to the basics. We’ll break down what yielding truly means, who must do it in this case, and how a simple pause can prevent a major crash.

Join us live as we walk through this common situation and work to make our roads a little safer, together.
