1 dead in crash on Millenia Boulevard in Orlando; video shows car slamming into tree

Police called to scene near Conservatory Lane

ORLANDO, Fla. – One person died and another was injured Thursday after a car crashed into a tree in Orlando, police said.

The fatal single-vehicle wreck happened around 1 a.m. in the 4300 block of Millenia Boulevard, east of I-4, according to the Orlando Fire Department.

Video captured by Mercedes-Benz of South Orlando shows a vehicle crashing into a tree before smoke is seen and what appears to be a person getting out of the car.

Orlando fire officials said a woman was extricated from the vehicle and taken to a hospital in critical condition. A male was hospitalized for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to officials.

Orlando police, the lead investigative agency, later said one person died, although no other details were released.

A tow truck removed the vehicle from the crash site.

All blocked lanes were later reopened.
