The FHP said the semitrailer was traveling north and failed to slow for a Volvo truck. The big rig driver swerved to the left, struck the back of the Volvo, ran off the road, collided with a guardrail, overturned and became engulfed in flames, an FHP crash report stated.

The semi driver, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP said.

The Volvo driver, a 23-year-old Florida woman, and her passenger, a 49-year-old Florida man, were not injured and remained at the scene, according to the crash report.
