Crash in St. Cloud area shuts down Florida’s Turnpike lane

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A crash involving two vehicles shut down at least one lane of Florida’s Turnpike in Osceola County Friday evening.

The Florida Highway Patrol says a 2018 Volkswagen Atlas and a 2019 Hyundai Elantra were traveling southbound on Florida’s Turnpike in the St. Cloud area, mile marker 240.

Troopers say the Volkswagen tried to change lanes and rear-ended the Elantra.

At one point, all of the southbound lanes were shut down, but right now the left lane is open.

Traffic is heavy and stop-and-go in that stretch of the Turnpike. Drivers should avoid the area if possible.
